The First Nations Creation Lab was a 5-day workshop intensive for selected First Nations artists from around the world.

Running in tandem with the Summit, the Creation Lab invited First Nations artists to challenge the role and influence of western performance methodologies and explore dramaturgy through the cultural lens of First Nations peoples. It provided a space for international First Nations collaboration, exchange and the seeding of new works.

Held Melbourne's Testing Grounds, the lab was open to ‘drop-in’ observers, and each night the venue turned into a bar and informal networking space where lab participants were able to share their work, meet other YIRRAMBOI artists and let their hair down.
