It is with sadness and regret that the 2020 Cheltenham Science Festival has been cancelled, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the highlights of the Festival are the FameLab International Finals presented in partnership with the British Council. Each year, the competition brings the brightest young science minds from across the globe to culturally share their experiences of science and compete for the title of the world’s best science communicator.

We are planning to postpone the FameLab International Finals to October during Cheltenham Literature Festival (2-11 October). This provides a great opportunity to feature the finals as part of the world’s oldest literature festival, run by the same team as Cheltenham Science Festival. It attracts high-profile speakers and thought-leaders from the worlds of politics, science, sport and entertainment as well as literary greats and spoken-word performers. Speakers at the Festival over the years have included Stephen Hawking, David Attenborough, Hillary Clinton and Kofi Annan.
