The Nature of Why brings together an incredible ensemble of musicians from the British Paraorchestra and four extraordinary dancers create epic performance bursting with passion.

The production takes inspiration from the unconventional curiosity of Nobel prize-winning physicist, Richard Feynman, and his search for meaning in the world around us. The stage will becomes a site of discovery as four dancers move to the music in a choreography by Australian artist and incoming Director of Arts Access Victoria Caroline Bowditch.

Led by renowned conductor Charles Hazelwood, members of the world’s only large-scale ensemble for professional disabled musicians, the British Paraorchestra, are joined by string players from Perth Symphony Orchestra to perform a cinematic live-score by Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory.

The Nature of Why was commissioned by Unlimited, with funding from Arts Council England, Stavros Niarchos Foundation and We the Curious.
