ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT/TEAM

British Council Seasons help to develop new audiences for British arts and culture around the world and allows us to rapidly develop relationships between the UK, major trading partners and important emerging economies. The Programme Officer provides project and administration support to the UK Australia Season, managing project resources and activities to ensure that project objectives are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest level of quality to ensure impact. Supporting programme team to deliver a successful portfolio by ensuring programme knowledge and data is gathered, recorded and shared effectively. 

WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT IT

In 2022 the British Council will celebrate 75 years in Australia. During 2021/22 the office will deliver the UK in Australia Season of culture across the country, a six month long body of arts and higher education work focused on the theme “Who Are We Now”. The British Council’s work in Australia will be reciprocated by the Australian government which will deliver an Australia in the UK Season with the same theme from June – September 2021. 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You should have an undergraduate degree with knowledge of finance, budget management and administrative work and good interpersonal skills, able to work cooperatively and effectively with other team members and stakeholders. Relevant work experience in project or programme management would be advantageous.
