ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT/TEAM

British Council Seasons help to develop new audiences for British arts and culture around the world and allows us to rapidly develop relationships between the UK, major trading partners and important emerging economies. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY

You will be driving the partnership development and stewardship for the 2021/22 UK in Australia Season to a target of GDP 1.5 million, working alongside an Australian Government counterpart and with a senior Patrons Board. For the UK AU Season we are working with government partners, sponsors, foundations and philanthropists in both the UK and Australia. British Council is jointly fundraising with the Australia in the UK Season team toward a shared target of GBP 1.5 million from private sources. This role will collaborate with a counterpart in the UK working to Australia House in London. 

WHAT IS INTERESTING ABOUT IT

We have partnerships with some world-class organisations, including the Premier League, HSBC, Ford Foundation and Microsoft, which increase our impact and also enhance our influence as an organisation, our income streams and our ability to innovate. The Partnerships Manager will work closely with our joint Patrons Board, co-Chaired by David Gonski in Australia and Sir Lloyd Dorfman in the UK.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You should have evidence of continuous professional development in fundraising with at least five years’ experience in partnerships/ fundraising / foundation roles, in the arts, higher education or major events sector. You should have good understanding of CSR and sponsorship trends and philanthropic funding landscape in Australia and the UK
